About Neal Hamilton
Since 1979, Neal Hamilton has grown into Northeast Ohio´s most-in-demand visual artist. Hamilton is a creative multi-tasker who has found phenomenal success as an Illustrator, Graphic Designer, Photographer and Painter.
Hamilton began his career in the 70´s as an industrial designer with Artist Studios, where he honed his skills as a graphic designer and illustrator. The 90´s saw Neal create his own enterprise, Livewire Studios, which quickly became a leading force in graphic arts and design in Cleveland. As owner and president, Neal led the company to secure major clients, including American Greetings,Taco Bell, and Goodyear tire company.
After more than a decade in graphic design, Neal combined his passion for music with visual art, and joined the staff of The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum. He was their official photographer from 1996 through 2006. Highlights during his tenure with the Rock Hall include working with the legendary Aretha Franklin (photographed with golf icon Tiger Woods), working with icon Little Richard, and documenting many openings such as the John Lennon exhibition, the Jimi Hendrix opening and touring the Rock Hall with President Bill Clinton, and not to mention countless concerts, shows, and celebrity tours.
Even with all these accomplishments, Neal has felt the tug to get back to his painting, creating from within, creating from his heart and soul. No surprise that the subject matter that has so strongly spoken to him comes from all the music he adores. "I love what the musical artist give to me, and the world, and this is what I love giving back to the world in return."
For the first time in his life, Neal feels that all his experiences and creative passions have finally found a home in his come to life portraits of musical icons. The images are intense and revealing, rock stars with eyes that stare into your soul, colors that accentuate their mood, sensuality, mystery or in-your-face flamboyancy.
